How to Use EDILib
A quick guide for library staff on signing up for shifts.
-
1
Choose a location
On the home page you will see a compass of five region buttons — NW, NE, SW, SE, and CTR (Central). Click the button that matches your region. If you are unsure which region you belong to, ask your administrator.
-
2
Log In
Enter your username and password. Your username is your staff ID in uppercase. Tick Remember me if you want to stay logged in on this device. If you have forgotten your credentials, contact your administrator.
-
3
Browse the Dashboard
After logging in you will land on the dashboard. The upcoming week is displayed automatically. The navigation bar at the top shows all localities. Your home locality is loaded automatically. Click any locality button to switch and browse libraries in that area.
A yellow dot on a locality button means at least one library there has open slots that still need to be filled.
-
4
Select a Library
The dashboard lists all libraries in the chosen locality. Click any library card to open its published schedule.
If a library shows "No published schedules available" it means no schedule has been released for upcoming weeks yet — check back later.
-
5
Read the Schedule Grid
The grid shows days as rows and shift types as columns. The five shift types are:
- PTE — Part-Time Early
- FTE — Full-Time Early
- OL — OverLap
- FTL — Full-Time Late
- PTL — Part-Time Late
Cells already filled show the assigned staff member's username. Your own assignments are highlighted in yellow. Empty cells show a checkbox if you are eligible to sign up.

Sign Up for Shifts
Tick the checkboxes next to any empty slots you want to take, then click Confirm Selection. Your username will appear in those cells immediately. Past days in the current week are locked and cannot be selected.
If you do not see any checkboxes your account may not yet have scheduling permission — speak to your administrator.
-
7
Switch Weeks
Use the Select week dropdown above the grid to view upcoming published schedules for the same library. Only weeks with a published schedule are shown.

8
Log Out
Click the log out icon in the top-right corner of the header when you are done. If you ticked Remember me at login, you will be signed out of this device only.
